Basketball Pictures
Hardy Meredith is going to take individual and team basketball pictures. Order forms went home this week. The high school team will have pictures taken on Tuesday, January 24, and the junior high team will have pictures taken on Thursday, January 26. These pictures will be taken at 4:00 p.m. before the team's home games at the recreation center. Please make checks payable to Hardy Meredith.

We are very proud of 7th grader Haafiz Hashim, who won the Regents Academy Spelling Bee and also the Regents Geography Bee. Haafiz will go on to represent Regents at the district level in both events. Great job!
2012 Medusa Mythology Exam
This year Regents students in 6th-12th grades have the opportunity to compete in the Medusa Mythology Exam. The exam is open to public, private, and home-school students. The theme for this year's test is "Malicious Monsters and Monstrous Mortals." It is a 50-question, multiple choice, 40-minute test that will be administered the last week of March. The fee is $3, and registrations are due by the end of January. Top achievers are eligible for cash awards. For more information you can check out www.medusaexam.org. The sign-up sheet for Regents students is on the extracurricular board in the back hallway.
5th-6th Grade Drama Presentation
Save the Date! The fifth and sixth graders will be presenting their drama production "Law & Order: Nursery Rhyme Unit" in the evening on January 30 to any interested family members. This will be considered a dress rehearsal for the performance in school on Wednesday, February 1.
